As of this post Valdese is estimated to be 41 weeks and two days pregnant. Being that the average pregnancy is 40 weeks we're a bit past due which is ok with us. From what we learned it's quite normal to go past due on the first baby but the risk of complications goes up past 42 weeks.
We tried pretty much every alternative that seems appropriate including:
- Spicy Foods
- Eating Dates
- Red raspberry tea
- Driving over bumpy roads (for realz🤓)
Not wanting to make Valdese exhausted before king into labor we took the last two days off. So far we've done chill, fun stuff like:
- Eat lots of gelato
- Enjoy some rad Mexican food
- Watched movies
- Played with Adam and Adora
- Eat chocolate
- Vintage shopping
- Eat more gelato🍦
If Valdese is not in labor naturally by Tuesday morning we're going to induce. Our doctor is one of the most conservative for inducing in Austin with the goal of more or less getting Val's body to take over after a small amount of pitocin.
The good news in this is that by next week this time at the latest we'll be at home with Roman and there will be plenty of pics on the blog.
